We lost the great Sylvain Sylvain this week and I'm heartbroken. At the same time I am thankful that I did have an opportunity to see Sylvain 10 years ago during the New York Dolls reunion tour and it was an incredible show. I know this mini-episode can't possibly fully honor his entire career, but it wasn't that long ago I did an entire episode dedicated to the New York Dolls and much of that show I talk about how amazing he is as a musician. So after this head on over to episode #16 - The New York Dolls - "Long After a Masquerade". RIP Sylvain.

Happy New Year everyone! Believe me, it wasn't easy to motivate myself to record this week's episode considering what's going on with our country this week. But music has always been the cure to raise my spirits, and the music for this week's show really helped me worked out a lot of my frustration with things. I hope you enjoy this latest episode of Emptying the Vault which features once again a great variety of musicians from all different corners of the rock and roll universe from blues rock, industrial metal, rockabilly, new wave, soul, and post-punk revival.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Good Riddance 2020! I end the year on a terrific band. The dynamic duo of Jack and Meg White, THE WHITE STRIPES, who put out six amazing albums. You should own them all. However, if you are a little unfamiliar with some of the deeper cuts then this show is a great launch pad into the deep recesses of this brilliant rock act. I curate some of my favorite underrated and under-appreciated songs from each of their studio releases. So sit back and enjoy!

Separated by 25 years comes the Smashing Pumpkins second double album, and very different type of release for them. If you into moody atmospheric synth-pop then this is everything you've probably always wanted in a Smashing Pumpkins release. I've listened to it already six times in the first three days of owning this and I can't get enough of it. I love that Billy and company continue to push the envelope and try new things.

Today's episode for me was a difficult one. On October 6th, we lost one of the greatest musicians to ever live, Eddie Van Halen. The amount of tributes that have been produced for this legend are numerous, so I knew that I needed to be patient with mine and not rush it. I'm thankful I did. What you're going to hear is my probably unlike many others since I don't focus on the Roth years. I wanted to be a little different. So I decided to dive deep into the post-Roth era and curate my ten favorite songs from this later era of the band that also highlight the greatness of EVH. All of these songs are special to me and I know that true Van Halen fans will appreciate hearing these deeper cuts from this era.

AC/DC is back with their 17th studio album. I gave it a few listens over the weekend and already I can say it's definitely a cut above their last couple of albums. Of course they don't stretch too far with their sound, but I definitely don't feel they phoned this album in. It rocks and it rocks hard!

Emptying the Vault returns for its letter 'U' edition. This is by far the most eclectic variety of music I've assembled for an episode. I had to search near and far to put together a full show of 10 kickass songs. It includes some deep cuts from some giants of the music industry, and also several indie bands that until recently I never knew existed. But I'm eternally grateful for this show, because if it weren't for my determination to find 10 bands to represent the letter U I never would have discovered them. I hope you all enjoy this weeks show!

After nearly a month on hiatus from a regular episode it's wonderful to be back behind the microphone. It's been incredibly busy both personally and professional for me. One of the big reasons for the delay is because of the exciting news that I have a feature film premiering Online on Sunday Night at 8pm (Eastern Time). The film is titled, The Assassination of Western Civilization. Since I make a point to not profit in anyways from this podcast, this is a great way to support my other artistic endeavors, feature film making. To learn about the film and how to register for the screening visit www.assassinatemovie.com.
This episode features another one of my all-time favorite bands. In fact throughout most of high school and college they were MY BAND. I'm not too naive to understand that not everything they produced was pure gold. I do have some gripes with some of their output and I don't pull any punches when I get to some of the eras of their music. I really hope you enjoy this journey through my favorite underrated and under-appreciated music form U2. I do not own the rights to any of the music played on this podcast. After nearly a twenty year hiatus, legendary rockers, Blue Öyster Cult are back with a seriously epic album. For a band with two of its founding members in their 70's, they still sound fresh and still know how to rock your socks off.
